Confession

Translation Jordana del Feld

I threw away your love

with a clean conscience,

for no other reason than to save you;

today you hate me and I'm glad

I hide in a corner and cry for you.

The memory you'll have of me

will be horrifying,

you'll always see me beating you

like a demon;

and if you only knew,

you'd see that repaying your great love like this

is the most generous thing I could do.

Sunshine of my life,

I was a total failure;

and in my fall from grace,

I cast you aside for your safety.

Because I loved you so much,

so very much,

when everything fell to ruin,

I made you hate me

just to save you.

Today after a year of atrocities

I saw you pass by;

I bit back the name I would have cried out,

you were as radiant as the sun,

they all stopped in their tracks to stare;

I don't know if that guy

deserves to have his arm around you like that,

I only know

that the agonizing cruelty I showed you

makes me deserve to see

someone else treat you like a queen

while you live way better

far away from me.

Sunshine of my life,

I was a total failure;

and in my fall from grace,

I cast you aside for your safety.

Because I loved you so much,

so very much,

when everything fell to ruin,

I made you hate me

just to save you.
